Honey bbq ribs in the oven

I like to make my honey bbq ribs in the oven because I don’t always have time to throw them on the grill. So to the oven they go! The first step I like to take is boiling the ribs.  I’m so serious, boil the ribs first.

How to boil ribs

The key to boiling your ribs is making sure your water is seasoned the correct way. In a pot add in onions, seasoning salt, pepper, salt, and vinegar. Once you have those ingredients, turn the pot up to high. Once the water begins to boil, add in your ribs. Continue to cook on high for about 10 minutes. If the water begins to boil overturn the pot down to medium-high and let cook for 25 to 35 minutes. Once the ribs begin to lose color. Now take the ribs out and set to the side.

How to make honey bbq ribs sauce

Everyone knows that the coating on the ribs is so important. We have to make the perfect honey bbq sauce, right!!?! The first step in doing so would be to grab a bowl. Add in honey bbq sauce, honey, mustard, sugar, and minced garlic. Mix all those ingredients together for the perfect honey bbq sauce.

Honey bbq ribs in the oven

Reverting back to earlier when I spoke about baking the ribs in the oven, thiis is that part LOL

Drown your ribs in the sauce mixture and place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes then take the ribs out because you want to make sure they aren’t burning. Flip them and add more sauce. Once you have done this put the ribs back in the oven for another 20 minutes or until you are satisfied with the texture!

Tip: Don’t allow them to bake too long over the recommended time because they will become tough.

You can serve these delicious honey bbq ribs with my cheesy mash potatoes, my stovetop mac and cheese, and for dessert my chocolate cake!!

Until next time folks
