Honey Bun Cake

This honey bun cake is delicious cinnamon rolls formed into a cake, if I say so myself. Cooked to perfection, then drizzled in some creamy, sweet frosting.

Ingredients  

Cake Batter

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 4 Eggs
  • 3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream

Cake Filling

  • 1 Teaspoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar

Honey Bun Cake Glaze

  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  • In a bowl add your brown sugar and cinnamon then mix well then sit to the side.
    1 Cup Brown Sugar, 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
  • In a bowl, add your yellow cake mix, vegetable oil, sour cream, and eggs now mix those ingredients together well.
    1 Box Yellow Cake Mix, 4 Eggs, 3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil, 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • In a baking dish add in half of the batter and smooth it out.
  • Next, sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the top of the cake batter.
  • Drizzle in a small amount of honey over the cake batter. Take a knife and lightly mix the cinnamon mixture into a pattern.
  • Add in the remaining cake batter and smooth it out
  • Place the cake in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes
    Remember it may take longer or less to bake because all ovens don't bake at the same temperature. Perform the toothpick test on your cake(stick a toothpick in the middle, if it comes out clean, then your cake is done). If the toothpick comes out wet, then it needs to bake some more
  • To a bowl add your powdered sugar, milk, Cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix those ingredients well and glaze over the cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
    1 Teaspoon Honey, 2 Cups Powdered Sugar, 1/4 Cup Milk, 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
