Southern Chicken and Rice

Southern chicken and rice. Also known as South Carolina chicken bog! This recipe is the perfect definition of a hearty Southern meal.

Ingredients  

  • 3 Pieces Chicken Breast chopped into bitesized pieces
  • 1 Pack Smoked Sausages chopped into bitesized pieces
  • 1 Onion chopped into bitesized pieces
  • 4 Tablespoon Butter Salted
  • 1 1/2 Cups White Rice long grain
  • 3 Cups Chicken Broth
  • Salt To Taste
  • Pepper To Taste
  • Garlic Powder To Taste

Instructions

  • Cut your chicken, onion, and sausages into bitesized pieces.
    3 Pieces Chicken Breast, 1 Onion, 1 Pack Smoked Sausages
  • Season your chicken making sure to rub in the seasonings.
    Pepper, Garlic Powder, Salt
  • Place your pot on the stove(medium-high temperature).
  • Add in your butter.
    Once the butter melts down, add in your chicken.
    Occasionally stir until your chicken has become slightly brown.
    4 Tablespoon Butter
  • Remove the chicken from the pot and sit to the side.
  • Add in your onions and sausages. Allow them to cook for 8 minutes. Stirring occasionally
  • Next, add your chicken back in, along with the chicken broth and rice.
    Stir well, then turn your stove to medium-low. Place a top on your pot and allow to simmer for 20 minutes or until there is no water covering the rice.
    3 Cups Chicken Broth, 1 1/2 Cups White Rice
