Cajun Shrimp Po'Boy

Shrimp Po’Boy with homemade remoulade sauce, but let’s make it New Orleans style! I made these shrimp po’ boy sandwiches with a ton of creole seasoning that will be sure to add that spicy kick to your crispy shrimp! Trust me when I say Popeyes ain’t got nothing on this po boy. You don’t want to miss this recipe.

Ingredients  

  • 1 Pound Shrimp Extra Large, peeled and deveined
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Teaspoon Cajun Seasoning To Taste
  • 1 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 Tablespoons Butter (Toasting Bread)
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 4-6 French bread rolls Sliced lengthwise
  • Lettuce Shredded
  • Sliced Tomatoes
  • Sliced pickles

Homemade Remoulade Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons Horseradish
  • 1 Tablespoons Sweet Relish
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Paprika

Instructions

  • In separate bowls add flour, eggs (whisked), and panko crumbs. Mix Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and salt and pepper into the flour bowl. Dredge shrimp in flour seasoning, then eggs, and last roll in panko bread crumbs.
    1 Pound Shrimp, 2 Eggs, 1 Cup All-purpose Flour, 2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs, 1 Teaspoon Cajun Seasoning, 1 Tablespoons Garlic Powder, Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Preheat your vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
    Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown. Place on a paper towel to allow the grease to absorb.
  • In a small bowl add softened butter and a sprinkle of minced garlic. Lightly spread over your rolls and toast in the oven until brown.
    1 Tablespoons Butter, 1/2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic, 4-6 French bread rolls
  • Homemade Remoulade Sauce
  • In a large bowl mix together plain mayonnaise, pickle relish, horseradish minced garlic, a splash of lemon juice, and paprika.
    1/2 Cup Mayonnaise, 2 Tablespoons Horseradish, 1 Tablespoons Sweet Relish, 1/2 Teaspoons Lemon juice, 1 Teaspoons Minced Garlic, 1/2 Teaspoons Paprika
  • Assemble the po' boys by spreading remoulade sauce over the bread, next layer shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pickles, and the crispy fried shrimp on the bread rolls.
