  • Medium-high heat. Preheat your vegetable oil to 350 degrees. Fill the Dutch oven to half full. Making just enough oil. Also, if you are unsure of the temperature of the hot oil, try using a meat thermometer.
    Vegetable oil
  • Cook the chicken in the frying oil until the skin becomes golden brown and crispy. I would say about 10 to 15 minutes. You should have white juicy meat on the inside.
  • After deep frying, remove from the pot and allow to rest on a wire rack with paper towels underneath for the chicken pieces to drain.
  • Lastly, toss or drizzle your crunchy fried chicken into your favorite sauce.

Notes

Food Safety

  • Don’t use plastic utensils to remove this flourless fried chicken from the pot. It can melt.
  • Please don’t overfill the pot with grease. This can cause a serious grease fire and severe burns.
  • When the chicken is removed from the hot grease, allow it to rest for 5 minutes before eating.
  • Don’t turn the stove up high to get a quicker cooking time. This will result in the outside of the chicken being done, but the inside will surely be uncooked.
  • Be cautious of the bones in the chicken when you bite into the chicken.
