I absolutely love the simple ingredients in this fried chicken without flour recipe is pretty easy and straight to the point. You may have everything that you need in your pantry.

Chicken Drumsticks- I used chicken drumsticks in this recipe. I honestly can’t say that you can use any other type of chicken, such as chicken breast. I didn’t test that. So, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Butter- The recipe uses butter to lock in that added flavor. It truly adds in added that extra kick of flavor to this recipe.

Vegetable Oil- I used vegetable oil in this recipe, but you can certainly use canola oil or peanut oil (which has a high smoke point), which is great for the chicken frying process. I have used both, and I didn’t come to find any difference.

Sesame Oil- Sesame is one of the main reasons this fried chicken without flour recipe comes from the grease tasting so well. Sesame oil has a unique taste and bold smell. It’s perfect for cooking.

Seasonings- I used a mixture of seasonings that helped to create the ultimate flourless fried chicken. Paprika, garlic powder, Sazon, onion powder, and black pepper. That’s all the seasonings you will need.

How To Make Fried Chicken Without Flour

Fried chicken without flour recipes isn’t always the easiest to find. That’s why I will show you step by step how I create this good fried chicken masterpiece of chicken.

Step 1: Clean and wash your raw chicken thoroughly. Making sure to remove all of the hair and excess skin. Pat dry.

Step 2: To a large bowl, add your cleaned chicken, melted butter, sesame oil, and seasonings. Begin mixing everything. Mix until all seasonings are combined.

Step 3: Medium-high heat. Preheat your vegetable oil to 350 degrees. Fill the Dutch oven to half full. Making just enough oil. Also, if you are unsure of the temperature of the hot oil, try using a meat thermometer.

Step 4: Cook the chicken in the frying oil until the skin becomes golden brown and crispy. I would say about 10 to 15 minutes. You should have white juicy meat on the inside.

Step 5: After deep frying. Remove from the pot and allow to rest on a wire rack with paper towels underneath for the chicken pieces to drain.

Dutch Oven- If you don’t have a Dutch oven. Which is what I recommend. You can use any deep pot you have. About 6 quarts(medium-sized).

Tongs- Make sure you have a pair of tongs waiting to grab those hot chicken pieces out of the pot.

Baking Rack- This will help to drain the grease from the chicken.

Green Beans-You can’t go wrong with pairing some delicious garlic butter green beans as a side.
