Old Fashioned Southern Baked Chicken

Your girl Ronalyn loves old fashioned southern baked chicken thighs with honey BBQ sauce. They are finger-licking good! There is no need to bring out the deep fryer for these protein-packed goodies. The juicy meat, caramelized onions, and spice rub all work together to create a piece of heaven. Pop them in the oven, and bam!

Ingredients  

  • 4 to 6 Chicken Thighs Boneless or Bone In
  • Your Favorite Honey BBQ Sauce
  • 1/2 Onion Thinly Sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoons Chicken Bouillon

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 400 degrees.
  • ​Wash and pat your meat dry with a paper towel.
    4 to 6 Chicken Thighs
  • ​Add the seasoning and olive oil to a bowl and mix well. Rub the mixture thoroughly into the chicken skin, ensuring it covers all sides.
    1/2 Cup Olive Oil, 1 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning, 1 Tablespoons Garlic Powder, 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper, 1 Teaspoons Paprika, 1 Tablespoons Chicken Bouillon
  • Add the chicken thighs to the baking dish, skin side up. Next, add the chopped unsalted or salted butter 🧈 along with the onions. Place into the oven for 30 minutes and remove.
    4 to 6 Chicken Thighs, 1/2 Onion Thinly, 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • Add a couple of layers of the honey BBQ. Place in the oven and bake until the skin gets a little crispy, about 20 extra minutes.
