  • Frozen Drumsticks– You don’t need drumsticks. You can use any frozen chicken you may have in your freezer. Chicken breast, tenders, and chicken thighs, to name a few.
  • Baby Potatoes- Baby potatoes are so rich in fiber and not to mention filling. If you don’t have baby potatoes on hand, you can use any potatoes you have.
  • Butter- Using butter in this chicken recipe helps with flavoring the chicken drumsticks gravy and also help tenderize the chicken as well.
  • Broth- The broth helps make a gravy for the frozen slow cooker chicken. You can add other liquids to the mix, like heavy cream and a bit of white wine, if you’d like.
  • Cornstarch- isn’t needed in this recipe but is recommended if you like your gravy at a thicker consistency.
  • Seasonings- Sazan, salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and chicken bouillon. With all these ingredients, you would come out with some of the perfect/juiciest chicken and potatoes!

How To Make Frozen Slow Cooker Chicken

Like any other slow cooker recipe, the instructions are always pretty much the same, and this one isn’t any different. If you want to get some extremely tender chicken, then you will need to follow this easy frozen slow cooker recipe.

1. You want to remove the frozen chicken from the package. Run cool water over the chicken to make sure you remove all of the ice from the chicken if needed.

2. Add the chicken to the slow cooker along with all the chicken broth.

3. Add the seasoning, baby potatoes, and butter to the slow cooker.

4. Turn the slow cooker high and allow it to cook for 5 hours. At the halfway mark(3 hours), take a spoon and push the chicken into the liquid, ensuring most of the chicken is covered by liquid.  

5. Place the top back on and cook until the chicken is tender or reaches your desired texture.

6. Season to taste before removing from the pot. Plate and enjoy!

Substitutions

Meat- The magical thing about this slow cooker chicken recipe is that you don’t have to use chicken. This recipe also works with frozen pork, such as pork chops.

Veggies-You can add any veggies to the pot. Such as carrots, celery, and onions, to name a few!

Wine- If you want to jazz this meal up a lot more. You can pour some wine into the slow cooker to make white wine chicken.

Variations

Spicy- If you like this meal a bit spicy, try adding in hot sauce or Cajun seasoning to give this meal that extra kick.

Herbs-Add a little bit of oregano, cumin seasoning, or bay leaves. To bring that her or taste in.
