There so many different types of rice. There is long-grain white rice, short-grain white rice, and brown rice just to name a few popular ones. Cooking white rice can definitely be scary but it’s really not that hard. It’s quite simple. The trick to cooking white rice is simple. For every cup of rice add 2 cups of water.

How long does cooked rice last in the refrigerator

Cooked white rice can last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The only thing you will need to do is heat the cooked white rice up in the microwave for about thirty seconds to a minute. Then, you have yourself a bowl of fluffy warm rice.

How to cook white rice

Cooking white rice doesn’t have to be as hard as some may think. It’s actually quite simple. You will only need to again make sure for every cup of rice, add 2 cups of water. Also, please remember to rinse your rice. Some don’t, but I definitely like to. Next, add water to a pot and bring to a boil. Once the water begins to boil, add butter and salt to your liking.

So, the next step is to add the rice in and allow the rice to come to a boil. Add a cover to the pot and turn on medium-low and allow to simmer for about 17-20 minutes. Once all the water has simmered down off of the rice. Your rice is done. You can take a fork and taste your rice, to check if it is done. If you take a bite and it’s a little crunch just add ½ cup of water and let simmer for another 10 minutes. Once you have done this take your spoon and fluff your rice.
