Every Fall, Families from around the South gather together at a picnic table, with a low country boil being the center of attention. It’s prepared in a big pot!! Filled with smoky sausages, fresh corn, fresh shrimp, melted butter, boiling water, and much more. It’s not only for having a low country boil party, but it can be enjoyed between two. It’s your personal preference!

The ingredients for this low-country boil recipe may be plentiful, but the directions and the cooking time for this seafood boil are painless. You will only use about 20 minutes of your time. For me, that’s a win. So, if this is your first low country boil, don’t worry, I got you.

  • Add water to the pot and bring to a boil

  • Once you have done so, add your seasonings, butter, red potatoes, corn, and sausages. Allow them to cook for 10 minutes.
  • Remove your red potatoes, corn, and sausages from the boiling water and sit to the side.
  • Now, add your shrimp and crab legs and allow them to boil for 7 minutes.
  • Remove crab legs and enjoy with Cajun butter sauce.
  • Stir gently to coat all the ingredients with the seasoning.
  • Serve on brown paper for an easy hot and enjoy!

Smoky Sausages- The simple ingredients can be switched out at any time. If you don’t like smoky sausages, Try the andouille sausage, spicy sausage, or beef sausage in this one-pot meal.

Small Red Potatoes- The great thing about this low country boil is that you don’t have to use red potatoes. You can use whatever potatoes you like.

Ingredients 

  • 12 Crab-leg Clusters
  • 3 lb Red Potatoes chopped or whole
  • 12 Roger woods sausages chopped to your liking
  • 2 lb Shrimp Fresh or Frozen to your liking
  • 12 Ear of corn
  • Water enough to submerge everything in the pan
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Old Bay
  • 1/2 Cup Tony Creole Seasoning
  • 1/2 Cup Cajun Seasoning

Cajun Butter Dipping Sauce

  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Tony’s Creole Seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Chili
  • 1 Teaspoon Old bay Seasoning

Instructions

  • Add water to the pot and bring to a boil

  • When the butter begins to melt slightly add in your chopped garlic, sweet chili sauce, and your seasonings. Mix everything together well and let simmer for about 3 minutes. There you have it. The most delicious Cajun butter sauce!
    1 Teaspoon Tony’s Creole Seasoning, 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic, 1 Teaspoon Old bay Seasoning, 1/2 Cup Sweet Chili

When it comes down to the seasonings in this recipe, they can be strong and overpowering. This is why I added (To your liking). I will say that when adding the seasonings to my measurements listed above, you will get a spicy cajun kick!
