History of Seafood boil

Cooking NY Times…In New Orleans, a seafood boil, the Southern tradition of gathering around a newspaper-lined table to eat large amounts of boiled shellfish with your bare hands, is all about salt and spice

How to make a Cajun Seafood Boil?

The ingredients for this recipe may be plentiful but the directions and the cooking time for this seafood boil are painless. You will only use about 20 minutes of your time. For me, that’s a win. The first thing you want to do is gather all your ingredients. I tell you to do this because with all of the ingredients you could possibly miss one. Then your seafood boil won’t taste quite as good as mine. You first want to make sure that the pot you are using is big enough for the crab, shrimp, potatoes, and corn. Bring your water to a boil.

Once you have done so add in your seasonings, butter, red potatoes, corn, and sausages. Allow them to cook for 10 minutes. This point is very important. Don’t add your shrimp or crab legs into the boiling water yet. The reason I say this is because the shrimp and the crab legs will both cook pretty fast. If you cook shrimp and crab legs longer than the expected time, they will have a rubber texture when you eat them. Lastly, take out your red potatoes, corn, and sausages. Now, you can add in your shrimp and crab legs and allow them to boil for 7 minutes.

What type of sausage to buy for this Cajun seafood boil?

I know that I mention Roger woods sausages but if you are unable to find them I would go with any type of sausages that you like.
