What is a Peach Cobbler with Cake  Mix?

This isn’t your traditional peach cobbler. I know you’re probably like wait? What is a peach cobbler with a yellow cake mix? It’s something like a dump cake. That’s right you just dump everything into a casserole dish! It’s a quick and easy simple dessert that you can enjoy alongside some vanilla ice cream.

  • Canned Peaches- You don’t necessarily have to use fresh fruit in this peach cobbler with cake mix.
  • Butter- The butter is used for flavor and to make sure that you get those edges nice, crispy, and golden brown.
  • Nutmeg- A small amount of nutmeg goes a long way when making this cake mix peach cobbler recipe.
  • Cinnamon- I feel like the easiest desserts all have cinnamon in them. It also gives these juicy peaches a ton of flavor.
  • Dry Cake Mix- This will keep you from having to make the dough from scratch in this cake mix cobbler.

How to Make Peach Cobbler?

  • The first thing you will need to do is gather all of your ingredients. Peaches in a can, yellow cake mix, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Next, take out your baking dish. You will first need to add in your peach slices.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the top of the peaches.
  • Next, sprinkle the nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract over the mixture.
  • Next, evenly pour the melted butter over the top of the cake.
  • Place in a preheated oven of 400 oven for about 40 minutes or until golden brown. There you have it an easy peach cobbler recipe.

      Variations

      • You can switch up the filling inside of your peach cobbler with cake mix and add in apple filling, sweet potato filling, Cherry pie filling, or even blueberry filling!! I have tested and made all of these recipes for you to follow along with just like this easy peach dump cake recipe.
      • Try mixing up the box of cake mix and add in something like spice cake mix or white cake mix along with some brown sugar.
      • Add some chopped pecan to the top of the cobbler

      Ingredients  

      • 2 cans of sliced peaches in syrup or juice
      • 1 box of yellow cake mix
      • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
      • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
      • 1/2 cup 1 stick of unsalted butter, melted
      • 1 Tablespoon Melted
      • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
      • Caramel

      Instructions

      • Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on the cake mix box.
      • Drain the syrup or juice from one can of peaches and set it aside. Keep the syrup or juice from the other can.
        2 cans of sliced peaches
      • Pour the peaches with the reserved syrup or juice into a 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading them evenly.
      • In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the peaches.
        1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
      • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches and spice mixture, making sure to cover them completely.
        1 box of yellow cake mix
      • Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, making sure it covers all areas.
        1/2 cup 1 stick of unsalted butter, melted
      • Bake in the preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 35 to 40 minutes. At the half mark open the oven and cover any dry spots with the remaining melted butter. Place back in the oven until the top is golden brown and the cake is set.
        1 Tablespoon
      • Once baked, remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
      • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and drizzles of caramel.
