Maca coffee is made of Maca powder from the Maca root, a Peruvian plant grown in the Andes mountains. The maca coffee is a great way to start your morning off because of its many health benefits and the energy boost it will provide! Maca coffee can be made with so many different ingredients. I used a simple recipe and enjoyed it with a slice of honey bun cake. Let me show you how I make this maca coffee recipe!

Ingredients

  • Organic Maca Powder- This ingredient is the star of the show. It has a nutty, butterscotch-like taste. It can be found in many different colors, such as red, yellow, and black.
  • AgaveI used agave nectar to enhance this recipe’s other flavors. It gives the recipe a hint of sweetness.
  • Vanilla Extract– It’s simply used to enhance the flavor.
  • Coffee grinds-I use the coffee grinds to compliment the maca powder. It gives this iced coffee recipe a nice nutty taste. You can also use a shot of expresso.
  • Hot Water-I used hot water to help dissolve the coffee grinds. Again, you can use a shot of expresso.
  • Ice- Allows the maca coffee to get nice and cold. I also want to go ahead and mention that you can also enjoy this recipe warm.
  • Almond milk-I used almond milk as my choice of milk, but you can absolutely use any type of milk you prefer.
  • Cocoa Powder- I used this ingredient to give the recipe delicious chocolate tastes that we all just love in iced coffee.

How to make maca coffee?

One of the main things you will enjoy about this recipe is its simplicity in it. You only need to add all the ingredients into one glass and mix them together.

You first want to start off by boiling some hot water and then pouring your coffee grinds inside to dissolve.

Next, add your maca powder and cocoa powder to the hot coffee water, and mix together well.
Lastly, add some ice to a glass along with your almond milk.

Pour the coffee mixture over the top, along with some vanilla extract and agave.

Mix well and enjoy!

Also, if you would like things a little bit sweeter. You can drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup over the top or cinnamon.

  • Chocolate syrup- If you want to sweeten this maca coffee, you can definitely add a few drops of chocolate syrup.
  • Frothed Milk- Add the finishing touches to the top of the coffee. You can use handheld milk frothed.

When you are getting ready to reheat this recipe, you will need to pour the coffee into a cup and place it in the microwave until it reaches your desired temperature.

  • 1 Cup Almond milk Any milk of your choice
  • 1 Teaspoon Maca
  • 1 /2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Teaspoon Agave Nectar
  • 1 cup coffee or 1 Shot of espresso
  • 1 Teaspoon Cacao Powder
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon Optional
  • Chocolate Syrup Optional

Instructions
