Tell McDonalds to move over because there is a new sheriff in town. Lol, this buttermilk chicken sandwich will have you asking yourself….where have you been all my life. It’s soak a creamy mixture to help soak in all of that flavor and to also tenderize the meat. With every bite you will have a juicy and tender sensation. I first start making this sandwich with my father at his little hold in the wall in the deep country woods of South Carolina. Hearing that grease go  into the deep fryer was magic to my ears of course I had to put my moderation day twist on things!!

Grocery Store List

  • Chicken Tenders- I tenders for the ease of cook and they are also really forgiving for any of my new fryers out there.
  • Buttermilk- This will help to tenderize the chicken and allow other flavors to sip in.
  • Hot Sauce- Another great addition to give this buttermilk fried chicken sandwich an extra layer of flavor!
  • Seasonings- The most important things in this entire recipe is the way you season.
  • Honey- Used to give the chicken a subtle unique taste that goes perfectly with the toasted bread.

How To Make Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich?

  • You want to start by adding your buttermilk hot sauce, eggs, and chicken with seasoning into the bowl and allow to marinate for 2 to 4 hours.
  • After soaking is completed preheat your vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
  • Next, remove the chicken from the bowl and add to the seasoned flour.
  • Brush with your hot honey sauce and add to your toasted or bread.

Ingredients  

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 4 Bread

Instructions

  • Soak chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for 2 to 4 hour or skip step.
    2 chicken breasts, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • Mix flour with salt and pepper. Dredge marinated chicken in flour.
    1 cup flour, Salt and pepper
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry chicken until golden and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes per side).
    Oil for frying
  • Warm honey and hot sauce in a small pot.
  • Place chicken on bread and drizzle with hot honey, and top with the other bread.
    ¼ cup honey, 1 tablespoon hot sauce, 4 Bread
  • Enjoy your sandwich!
