I remember smelling these red lobster dupes far too often growing up but I’m not complaining. The scent along with the cheesy, buttery, meaty bread was too good to be true. My mom would literally have to run me away from the kitchen. Anywho, these sausage balls are buttery and filled with cheesy goodness. If you are hosting a holiday party or a game day brunch these will be the perfect little treats that will get things rolling.

Ingredients Needed For Sausage Ball Recipe

  • Sausage- I used the roll sausages that pulls apart pretty easy, but you can use your favorite type of sausages.
  • Cheddar Cheese- The block sharp cheese works great but the pre shredded one is just fine if you are looking to save time.
  • Milk- This will help all of the ingredients to mix together well.
  • Red Lobster Biscuits mix- Needed to form the biscuit like bread or you can use the actual red lobster premade biscuits in the box.

How To Make Cheddar Bay Sausage Ball?

First, start off by preheating your oven to 375 degrees.

Next, you want to mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Begin to form your balls in the palm of your hands. Grab about a tablespoon of the mixture.

Place onto a baking sheet and place in the oven and allow to bake for 18-20 minutes are until they become golden brown.

A Few Tips

Switch up the pork sausage for chicken or turkey meat.

For an extra taste of butter brush a layer of melted butter onto the finished cheddar bay sausage balls.

Sharp cheese is my go to cheese but if you don’t have any on hand you can use any that you may have.

Ingredients  

  • 1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean pork sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter melted

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheese, melt butter, biscuit mix, and milk. Mix until fully combined.
    1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix, 1 lb Jimmy Dean pork sausage, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, ½ cup milk, ¼ cup butter
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 18 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Brush melted butter over the sausage balls.
