  • Honey Mustard- another secret ingredient that adds a special touch of richness to this classic dish.
  • Seasonings- salt, garlic powder, and pepper to taste.
  • Dill Relish- use dill relish to bring that sweet taste to this Southern tuna salad.
  • Tuna in Water- I went with chunky tuna with Water to save on calories.
  • Hawaiian Bread- Other options are wheat bread, butter bread, or any bread you like.
  • Pepperoncini Pepper- You can find these at your local Walmart, Food Lion, or any famous market in your area.

How To Make

Bowl- Add your canned tuna to the bowl along with the remaining ingredients listed below.

Assemble Sandwich- Add the tuna salad to your Hawaiian bread or enjoy it alone.

Variations/Substitutions

  1. Tuna lettuce wraps are a great way to avoid the added calories from the bread.

Ingredients  

  • 3 Cans Tuna Drained(albacore)
  • 1/2 Cup Red Onion Diced
  • 1 Celery Finely chopped
  • 1/4 Mayonnaise
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 2 Teaspoon Honey mustard
  • Sweet Relish To your liking
  • Salt and pepper To Taste
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Bag Hawaiian Bread

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice, honey mustard, onion, and celery in the bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste.
    3 Cans Tuna, 1/2 Cup Red Onion, 1 Celery, 1/4 Mayonnaise, 1 Teaspoon Lemon juice, 2 Teaspoon Honey mustard, Sweet Relish, Salt and pepper, 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve on bread
