A tuna salad sandwich with relish slathered onto a piece of Hawaiian bread. Where is the sign-up line for this delicious, nonspicy tuna melt?
Why You Should Make
This healthy sandwich recipe pairs perfectly with my garlic bread recipe! It’s made with Canned Tuna, celery, honey mustard, sweet relish, mayonnaise, eggs, pepperoncini, and other simple ingredients. This recipe comes together in just five minutes!
Ingredients You Will Need
- Purple/Red Onion- this will help add a ton of extra flavor to your Southern tuna salad. Try to stick with this type of onion for the flavor alone.
- Mayonnaise little Mayo goes a long way.
- Lemon juice is the secret ingredient that will help with the tuna’s fishy taste.
- Honey Mustard- another secret ingredient that adds a special touch of richness to this classic dish.
- Seasonings- salt, garlic powder, and pepper to taste.
- Dill Relish- use dill relish to bring that sweet taste to this Southern tuna salad.
- Tuna in Water- I went with chunky tuna with Water to save on calories.
- Hawaiian Bread- Other options are wheat bread, butter bread, or any bread you like.
- Pepperoncini Pepper- You can find these at your local Walmart, Food Lion, or any famous market in your area.
