If you are looking for a quick but yet fulfilling meal while on quarantine, look no further! These juicy easy, cheesy Philly cheesesteak burger has you covered!
The first thing you need to do is get your meat and Hawaiian bread rolls, these are your main ingredients. The type of meat I used was (name), but you could definitely used fresh steak from the market. It’ll taste yummy either way, but for the sake of time I used (name).
Cooking Philly cheesesteak meat
Place a pan on the stove on medium heat and grease the pan with either oil or butter.
Tip: Don’t put too much oil in the pan because it will make your Hawaiian roll bread soggy. Unless, you like that type of bread, if so, go for it!
While the pot is getting hot start to break apart the meat with your hands into pieces.
Once the oil is hot place meat in the pan.
Add in chopped onions, chopped green bell peppers, salt, garlic powder, and Montreal seasoning to the meat.
Once the meat has turned brown all over, stir in sesame oil and Worcestershire sauce. Then section steak off into 4 sections and add cheese. Let cheese melt and mix into steak.
Step 6: Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Butter the bottom of a pan and lay the bread in the pan. Toast the bread for about 3-5 minutes.
Tip: Make sure to check periodically so the bread doesn’t get too hard.
How to prepare sauce
The sauce is quite simple. Combine honey mustard, sugar and lite soy sauce with a hint of salt. Just like that you have a nice and creamy sauce to lather across your burger bun add the cheese steak meat and enjoy!
You can store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days to keep that fresh taste. Try not to warm in microwave. Instead wrap in aluminum foil and warm in oven for about 10 minutes or until desired temperature.
Can you substitute fresh steak for something simpler?
You can substitute the fresh steak for the steak in the box.
