How to choose the right whole chicken size?

Firstly, you need to make sure you know the measurements of your air fryer. Once you know that you can go in the store and pick your whole chicken in the correct size. The absolute worst thing is to get a whole chicken that is bigger than your air fryer. Talk about a bad day.

How to clean the whole chicken?

Firstly, you need to make sure your kitchen is clean of any other pots are dishes, etc. You don’t want to cross-contaminate anything! Put on gloves if that is your preference. Next, take your chicken out of the bag. Rinse with vinegar and water. You can even set the chicken in the vinegar water while cleaning. Once you have done so take a knife and cut the buttocks off. Now,  you need to remove everything from the opening of the chicken (liver, heart, fat, etc. So, take a knife and begin to cut all the fat and any feathers off of the chicken. Next checked the chicken for any yellow build. If you find any take the knife and scrape off. Finally, rinse the chicken as many times as you need. That’s it!!!

How to season air fryer garlic herb chicken?

To season the whole chicken is so simple. Gather all of your ingredients together.  A basting brush, seasoning salt, garlic herb seasoning, paprika, kosher salt, black pepper, butter, onion, garlic clove, lemon, and olive oil.

Mix all those ingredients together then drizzle your olive oil in the mixture to get a thick paste. Take the butter and rub it under the skin of the chicken. Once you have done that place a whole onion, garlic clove, and lemon in the opening of the whole chicken.

How to air fry a whole chicken

Spray the inside of the air fryer with nonstick spray. Add in the whole chicken, breast side down at 360F for 30 minutes then take the chicken out and turn it breast side up. Place back in the air fryer for another 25 minutes.

Tip: if the chicken is 3 to 4 pounds then the cooking time of  55 minutes is fine but if it’s bigger you want to cook longer. Make sure the internal temperature is 165F.

***Remember every air fryer is different so you may have to cook your chicken longer or maybe not. ****
