What Is A Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki Bowl?

Chicken teriyaki pineapple bowls are a great way to get in your protein. It’s a bowl packed with teriyaki glaze, chicken pieces, whole pineapple, and white rice. You can make this recipe with homemade teriyaki with soy sauce or a store-bought jar. I will say that the store-bought is just as delicious.

  • Chicken Breast- You can use chicken breast or chicken thighs. A fun way to mix things up is to use different cuts of chicken.
  • Whole Pineapple- Make sure you use fresh pineapples(pineapple halves) for this fresh pineapple bowl. You can also cut them into vertical slices. It helps to bring in all of the vibrant sweetness. You can use the pineapples in the can, but they aren’t as fresh as the whole pineapple. Also, make sure they are ripe pineapples and not rotten.
  • White Rice(basmati rice): I feel like all easy recipes can be paired with a good and fluffy side of white rice.
  • Olive Oil– I used about 1 tbsp oil to create this pineapple chicken teriyaki bowl. You can use as much as you need to get your chicken sear up correctly!
  • Seasonings- I used a mixture of herbs but you can totally mix things up and use whatever seasonings you would like. Here are the ones I used. Black pepper, garlic powder, curry powder, fresh ginger, salt, and a small creole seasoning.
  • Vegetables– I only used broccoli but you can add in as much veggies as you like. I used fresh broccoli.

How To Make Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki Bowls

To a medium heat skillet or griddle add in your seasoned chicken. Allow to simmer for 5 to 6 minutes.

Add in your chopped pineapples and broccoli and mix well. Allow these ingredients to cook together for 6 to 8 minutes.

Lastly add in your teriyaki sauce, honey and turn stove or skillet to low and allow to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes and enjoy over a bed of cooked rice.

  • Teriyaki chicken pineapple bowls- make this recipe creative with placing the pineapples in the pineapple flesh. Pineapple boats is what you should call them! Pour the pineapple juice over the top for a even better taste. This is great for a dinner party.
  • Fried Rice- instead of adding white rice to the side. You can add a bowl of fried rice, coconut rice, cauliflower rice, or brown rice. The rice doesn’t need to be cooked by you. You can use minute rice from the grocery store!

Small Mixing Bowl- to mix your chicken well and to add all of the necessary ingredients without making a complete mess of things or cross contamination of the meat.
