Onions- I used sweet onions in this recipe to give it a slightly sweet flavor but not too overpowering. You can also use white or yellow onions. It's completely up to you.
Eggs- The eggs in this cheese-stuffed meatloaf help the meat not to dry out in the oven but stay nice and tender.
Honey BBQ Sauce- I love the tanginess of adding BBQ sauce. It's not an overpowering taste but just right.
Worcestershire Sauce- Great when paired with honey BBQ sauce. The two work hand and hand.
Mozzarella Cheese- This is the second star of the show. I would suggest fresh mozzarella if you want that mind-blowing cheese pull.

How To Make Stuffed Meatloaf?
Making the best-stuffed meatloaf recipe is simple and easy. I saw this recipe on Betty Crocker's website. I just placed my spin on things. Here are the steps:
1)The first thing I will always recommend is gathering all your ingredients. This makes things easy when you begin cooking this cheese-stuffed meatloaf, ensuring you won’t leave any ingredients out.Next, Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2)To a mixing bowl add your ground beef. Next, add your seasonings, onion, bell pepper, egg, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and BBQ sauce. Once you have all the ingredients in the bowl, mix everything together well.
3)Transfer your meat to a baking dish. Next, start forming your meatloaf into a football-like shape, making sure to leave a small 4-inch hole in the middle.
4)Lay the cheese in the hole you created in the meatloaf. Now you want to start working your hands through the meatloaf to ensure all the cheese is covered. Sit to the side and start preparing your sauce.
5)In a separate bowl add your ketchup, brown sugar, and honey BBQ in a bowl. Mix well.
6)Lather that half of the mixture over your uncooked meatloaf. Cover and place your ground beef in a preheated 350-degree oven for 40 minutes.
7)Once you have done that, take the meatloaf out of the oven and lather the remaining meatloaf sauce over the meatloaf. Lastly, place the stuffed meatloaf back in the oven for 15 minutes. Take it out of the oven allow it to rest for 5 minutes and enjoy!

Substitutions/Variations
Vegan- You can go vegan with this recipe using vegan meat like impossible meat.
Veggies-You can bake in veggies such as spinach, colorful bell peppers, and chopped mushrooms, to name a few.
Bacon- A game changer. Add some cooked bacon to the mixture. Don't overcook the bacon; add it to this stuffed meatloaf because it will taste burnt.
Breadcrumbs- You can use regular oats or panko bread crumbs if you don't have Italian breadcrumbs.
Faqs/Questions
Can I substitute the ground beef?
I used ground beef for this recipe, but you don’t have to. You can use ground turkey meat, and I promise you that if you season this meatloaf recipe with the same seasonings I listed above, it will taste just the same. Just remember that turkey meat will become dry after a while. So, it may become tough when it comes down to reheating this stuffed meatloaf.
Why do you put bread crumbs in meatloaf?
The breadcrumbs aid in helping with absorbing all the juices from this succulent meatloaf.
