Ingredients For Cheese stuffed baked meatballs
Ground Beef—I used 80/20, but you can use turkey meatballs or pork if that’s your preference.
Pasta Sauce—Store-bought pasta sauces work well. You can use marina sauce or pasta. I love Trader Joe’s healthy and organic options.
Mozzarella Cheese- I used the mozzarella string cheese, but you can use other mozzarella options. It will not be as gooey on the cheese pull.
Spices and herbs- Italian seasoning and oregano are some of the seasonings.
Eggs- This will act as a binding agent to hold baked meatballs together. Add a ton of moisture. Plus, using them will add an extra layer of protein.
Onion—If you want your meatballs to have a hint of caramelized onions, they will do just that.
How to make Cheese stuffed meatballs
- Cut your mozzarella stick into pieces
- Add the meat and all the other ingredients (Breadcrumbs, dried parsley, garlic powder, black pepper, sea salt, creole seasoning, Italian seasoning, and onion) to a bowl and mix well.
- Grab a tablespoon of meat and flatten it in your hand’s palm. Place a piece of your mozzarella cheese stick in the middle and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. This is how you will form your cheese-stuffed meatballs. Begin to form ground or turkey meat into a circle(meatball)
- Add butter and olive oil to a pan on medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the meatballs to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, flip them to another side to brown for 2 to 3 minutes using a fork.
- Add in spaghetti sauce. Place a lid over the pan and place into a preheated oven of 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
