Cube Steak- you can grab these healthy, protein-packed goodies from your local grocery store.

Onions- Adding onions will bring out the gravy flavor and help tenderize your steak cubes.

Seasonings- used an array of herbs such as black pepper, onion powder, and seasoning salt to add extra flavor.

Seasoned Flour mixture- I used a mixture of all-purpose flour and simple ingredients such as garlic powder and black pepper, to name a few.

Beef Broth- This delicious meal wouldn’t be complete without broth to make the perfect gravy mixture that will become a family favorite.

Butter and Oil- Searing your steak on the stove top is an easy way to cook them, especially if it’s your first time.

How To Make Cubed Steaks?

Step 1: Begin to tenderize your meat. After, doing so go ahead and chop your bell peppers and onions. Place them off to the side in a small bowl.

Step 2: Add the recommended seasoning to your round steak. Gently massage the seasoning onto both sides of the meat. Add the steak to the seasoned flour.

Step 3: Pour about 1/2 cup olive oil into a skillet. Turn the stove to medium-high heat.

Tip: To know wether the grease is hot enough either use a deep fry thermometer or take a tiny and I mean tiny sprinkle of water to see if the grease pops when splashed. If you are new to frying I would suggest a thermometer.

Step 4: Place the cube steak into the hot oil and allow to sear on each side for 4 minutes or until golden brown

Warning: Unless you like rare meat please make sure to cook until you see no pink. Remove from the pan and set to the side.

Step 5: To the pan add butter , Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth mixture. This will make the homemade gravy. Place cube steaks back into the pot along with the same seasonings used previously.

Step 6: Place a top on and turn from medium high heat to low heat until the little cubes are fork tender. Pair with white rice.

 Variations

Try switching the gravy up and adding fresh mushrooms or combine cream of mushroom soup to give it an extra hint of flavor.

Suggestions

Make sure to tenderize your cube steak. Not too much just enough. Sometimes depending on the size of the cube steak it will begin to tear. Be gentle.

Massage the seasoning into your meat for more flavor.

Try to buy the cube steak the same day you cook it. Sometimes freezing then can take away the quality.

Try not to skip the tenderizing process. Use a meat mallet for this.

How To Store?

To store your leftover cube steak you will want to make sure that you are using an airtight container that will hold in all the great flavor.

Do you have to let your cube steak sit in milk?

No, you don’t have to use milk at all. One thing I love about cube steaks is that they are so easy to make. You don’t have to add all those steps for them to taste just as delicious.

Is this meal budget-friendly?

Cube steak is one of those meats that you can buy and not have to break the bank in doing so.

In Conclusion

This tender cube steak recipe is one of the healthy recipes that I love enjoying as a powering boost of protein. It’s packed with a nutritious punch that will leave you full for a while.
